what is bikelab?

the idea for bikelab was born from the simple need for better specialist bike shops. a lot of shops can talk the talk but when it comes to action, many simply don't meet the needs and expectations of todays’ informed and educated cyclists. many also do not have the levels of technical competence and specialist advice that people require to get the maximum performance from thier machines. when bikelab opened in 2001 we came up with an advertising slogan that we believe is as relevent today as it was then: 'bikes today are technically sophisticated, so why aren't most bike shops?' today, bikelab is one of the uk's leading specialist independent bicycle retailers and we still see everyday, people on poor fitting, badly set up bikes.

bike shops historically have been uninspiring, greasy and often intimidating places, bikelab is a fresh, clean and exciting, modern retail environment stocked with the latest and greatest products the market has to offer, but that doesn't mean we can't talk to you about them in plain english.

within bikelab, you will find a clean workshop, managed by qualified professionals using the latest high tech tooling. this tech’ area is within the store environment so you can see what we're doing with your bike. this environment is a unique approach as an average bicycle workshop is usually the dirty space out the back. today’s bikes need specialist tools and knowledge to get the correct performance and bikelabs' reputation is so renowned that we were chosen as the exclusive technical partner to mercedes-benz uk for all technical requirements of the mercedes-benz bicycle range. please click on specialist services in the menu bar for more details. 

we can also give your body the same specialist treatment as your bike with our computerized bike fit analysis service.  we measure your body in intricate detail and analyze the data in a computer program that will calculate your optimum position and set up on the bike.  if you desire maximum performance, comfort and efficency, our bikefitting service is a must.
